Congratulations to the 2025 WHCCD Employees of the Year!

The »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË (WHCCD) launched its fourth annual Classified Employee of the Year recognition and the third annual Faculty Member and Manager/Confidential Employee of the Year recognition program this spring. The program acknowledges employees who demonstrate the highest commitment to students and embody the WHCCD’s mission of Relentless Pursuit of Student Success.

We received many nominations for deserving candidates across the District, but only one person is selected from each category in each location. These recipients were honored and recognized at the May 27, 2025, Board of Trustees meeting.

Please help me congratulate the following employees who were selected as Employees of the Year at their respective district sites:

Coalinga College

• Manager of the Year – Bobbi Mahfood, Dean of Educational Services
  Bobbi Mahfood’s student-first mindset and collaborative leadership have enhanced campus-wide services and support. She is a steadfast advocate for equity and access.
• Faculty of the Year – Dr. Ken Henry, Chemistry Instructor
  Ken Henry brings humor, passion, and depth to every course he teaches, drawing from years of experience and genuine care for student learning. His impact extends well beyond the classroom.
• Classified Employee of the Year – Gina Twardowski, Senior Secretary - Athletics
  Gina Twardowski is a cornerstone of operational success at Coalinga College. Her exceptional organization, initiative, and calm leadership make her invaluable to the team.

• Manager of the Year – Callie Branan, Director of Outreach & Recruitment
  Callie Branan is a solutions-driven leader who uplifts her team with integrity, vision, and an unshakable commitment to student success. She is trusted and respected across campus.
• Faculty of the Year – Leonel Burgos, Counselor
  Leonel Burgos engages students with compassion and high expectations. His work has transformed the lives of countless students through connection and encouragement.
• Classified Employee of the Year – Randi Garcia, Senior Secretary - Ed Services
  Randi Garcia’s can-do spirit, warmth, and tireless dedication make her a pillar of student services. Her contributions help create a welcoming and effective environment for all.

District Office

• Manager of the Year – Kyle Crider, Director of Accreditation, Research, Institutional Effectiveness, and Planning
  Kyle Crider leads with strategic vision and an unwavering commitment to excellence in institutional research and planning. His efforts have elevated how we use data to inform meaningful change and improved outcomes across the District.
• Classified Employee of the Year – Domenica Sanchez, Academic Advising Specialist II - Grants
  Domenica Sanchez brings professionalism, compassion, and a positive spirit to the District Office. She is known for her exceptional reliability, teamwork, and consistent dedication to those she serves.
